Statistics #
Users of AirGuard can voluntarily share anonymized data with us. These users are our data donors. We publish the aggregated data on this page to highlight the prevalence of trackers and their misuse for unwanted tracking and stalking.
Detected Trackers #
We show the distribution of tracker devices detected by our AirGuard app. The app only shares data about trackers, which are actively tracking the location and are not near their owner. In other words, the app only collects data on trackers, which may be used for stalking¹. This data does not reflect the entire tracker distribution. See Limits of the App to find out more about how the trackers work.

Notification Statistics #
When a tracker follows an AirGuard user, they will get a notification to warn them about the potential stalking threat. Here too, AirGuard only considers trackers that are actively tracking the user’s location and are not near their owner. We summarize the number of notifications in the graphs below.

Median Beacons Seen Before Notification #
This chart shows the median number of Bluetooth beacons received from a specific tracker in the 24 hours leading up to a notification.
Reported Hidden Tracker Locations #
This section shows the locations of where the trackers were hidden, based on reports provided by our users.
Operating System #
This chart shows the distribution of the operating system that our users prefer. This reflects only the users who also share anonymized data.
Footnotes #
¹ Some trackers do not change their identification (e.g., Tile), which leads to them being easier to detect. This results in them appearing more frequently in our statistics. This does not necessarily mean they are used for stalking more often than other trackers.
